Suffolk County Mobile Crisis-
Teams that have been created for emergent intervention/assessment in the home, should a psychiatric situation arise. However, you must call 911 or visit the nearest emergency room if you are in imminent danger- as these teams generally take time more time than the police to respond. Read more about mobile crisis:

Stony Brook University Medical Center
Comprehensive Psychiatric Emergency Program (CPEP)-
A program developed to treat Suffolk County residents of all ages across the lifespan, facing a psychiatric crisis. Clients may be escorted in by police, ambulance or triaged to CPEP through the main emergency room of Stony Brook University Medical Center.
Remember, assessments made here are reserved for emergency purposes and strictly to determine if someone is an imminent danger to themselves or others. The team then determines a plan of care which could include any of the following: inpatient hospitalization (could result in being hospitalized in any available psychiatric hospital on long island, not necessarily Stony Brook), an extended observation or clearance to return home with outpatient referrals and follow-up.
CPEP is a locked unit to provide safety for clients. Upon entering the unit you will be searched and must have all belongings secured until you leave. Even if you come in willingly, you must be cleared by the team (psychiatrist or NP, nurse and social worker) before you may leave.
CPEP does not provide medical detox or rehab.
